According to Burke's, Margaret was the sole heiress to her father, Sir Ambrose Cave. [1]
Margaret Cave was the daughter and heir of the very wealthy diplomat, Sir Ambrose Cave (c.1503-April 2, 1568), and Margery Willington (d.c.1561). She married Henry Knollys of Rotherfield Greys, Oxfordshire on July 16, 1565[2]
at Durham House on the Strand, The wedding was attended by Queen Elizabeth. It was celebrated with a ball, a tourney, and two masques. They had two daughters, Elizabeth (c.1579-before 1632) and Lettice (c.1583-1655).
She left a detailed will which was probated in Nov 1606, describing her self as the widow of Henry Knollys of Nuneaton, Warwickshire and the daughter and heir of Ambrose Cave.[3]
