Sarah Philadephia Cayley was born circa 1802 at Brompton, Yorkshire, England. She was the daughter of Sir George Cayley, 6th Bt. and Sarah Walker. She married Sir William Worsley, 1st Bt., son of Reverend George Worsley and Anne Cayley, at Brompton by Sawdon, Yorkshire on 18 January 1827.[1] The licence (dated 15 January 1827) for the marriage gives her age as 24.[2]

Note by Martin C. Styan: The census does not explicitly identify this house as Hovingham Hall, but a house at Hovingham inhabited by a family of eight people named Worsley and 14 servants could not be any house other than Hovingham Hall. The census gives initials instead of full first and middle names for most of the family members. Some of the letters are rather unclear. From examination of the scan of the original record and comparison with other sources, they appear to be: S. P = Sarah Philadelphia; T. R. = Thomas Robinson; W. C. = William Cayley; C. L. = Catherine Louisa; A. B. = Anne Barbara; A. I. = Agnes Isabella; E. H. = should be Emma Frances but the second letter does not look like an F.

Edward K. Harman visitor, Un, aged 23, born in London
Note by Martin C. Styan: Other sources show that the children of William Worsley included: Anne Barbara Worsley born in 1833, and Agnes Isabella Worsley born in 1836. It is not clear whether "Agnes B Worsley aged 26" in the 1861 census is one, the other, or a mixture of both.
The visitor appears to be Edward Robert King-Harman-2, 1838-1888, who married Emma Frances Worsley
