Biography

Eunice (Unice) Chadwick was born in Lunenburg, Worcester, Massachusetts on August 19, 1759. She was the daughter of William Chadwick and Eunice Goss Chadwick.[1]

Eunice married Peter Thurston on April 22, 1787 in Boxford, Massachusetts.[2]

Eunice died on August 1, 1802 in Cambridge, Lamoille, Vermont.[3]

Research Notes

There were two Eunice Chadwicks born closely together in Worcester County, Massachusetts. One was the one in this profile and the other was Eunice Chadwick, born in Warren, Worcester, Massachusetts on August 19, 1759 to Nathan and Jerusha Noyes Chadwick. A Eunice Chadwick married Peter Thurson after April 22, 1787 (intention filed) in Boxford, Essex, Massachusetts.[2] Neither Eunice lived very close to Boxford, however, and there is no birth record for Eunice Chadwick in or around Boxford. Peter Thurston is said to be "of Fairfax" in the marriage record, probably meaning Fairfax, Franklin, Vermont.

This profile states that this Eunice was Peter's wife based on various pieces of evidence. First is the Find a Grave page for Eunice, which repeats what is in this profile.[4] Second is the detailed web page "(Deacon) Peter Thurston and (1) Eunice Chadwick; (2) Hannah Butler" which also states that the marriage took place, but gives Eunice's birth was about 1765 in Haverhill, Massachusetts.[5] There was a Eunice Chadwick born in Haverhill, but she was the daughter of Jonathan and her birthdate was May 1, 1726.[6]
