Military Service - Civil War

During the Civil War, he enlisted from Plain Township in Bowling Green, Ohio, with Company A, 100th Infantry, in August 1862, transferred to the Veteran Reserve Corps, and mustered out in July 1865.^[4] His cousin George A. Chadwick was also listed in Plain Township's muster roll but in a different regiment.^[4]
