Benjamin Ellis Chambers, son of Issac Eagleton Chambers and Rebecca Jane (Lee) Chambers, was born on 30 July 1858 at Knoxville, Knox Co., Tennessee, USA.[1]
He married Mary Ann Washburn on 19 Sep. 1877 at Jefferson Co., Tennessee, USA.[1][2]
He was a laborer when he and Mary Ann Washburn appeared on the census of 4 June 1880 at Dutch Bottom, Cocke Co., Tennessee. [3]
He was a farmer in 1900 when he and Leila appeared on the census of 14 June 1900 at McLennan Co., Texas.[5] He was a farmer when he appeared on the census of 4 May 1910 at McLennan Co., Texas. Leila Ada Griffin, is not shown on the census and daughter, Nellie, is mislabeled as his wife wife.[6] He was a farmer when he and Leila appeared on the census of 16 Jan. 1920 at Longview Road, Henderson, Rusk Co., Texas.[7] He was a farmer when he and Leila appeared on the census of 25 April 1930 at Winter, Sawyer Co., Wisconsin.[8]
Benjamin died on 6 March 1939 at Winter, Sawyer Co., Wisconsin,[1] at age 80 and was buried at Winter Cemetery, Winter, Sawyer County, Wisconsin, USA. His memorial has a photo of his headstone, links to those of many family members and a copy of an extended obituary from the Sawyer County Gazette.[9]
