William Chambers was a Texan.
William engaged in farming in Texas.

William was born 10 Apr 1880 [1] and passed away 3 Jul 1970. [2] He is buried in Wolf Valley Cemetery, May, Brown County, Texas. [3] William married Mary Alice Spence on 6 Nov 1907 in Brown, Texas. [4]

William was a member of the Texas Legislator from 1939-1947 and 1949-1957 which included the 46th to 49th Legislatures as a representative of Brown and Coleman Counties; 51st and 52nd Legislatures as a representative still for Brown and Coleman. Then in the 53rd and 54th Legislatures as a representative of Brown, Comanche, and Mills. During these times, he was a member of numerous committees to include being the chair for the House Committee on Agriculture in the 47th and 53rd; Vice-Chair in the 48th Legislatures. During the 49th Legislature he was the chair for the House Committee on Revenue and Taxation and the 54th Legislature the chair for the House Committee on State Hospitals and Special Schools. [5]

During the 54th Texas Legislature, he was recognized by 54th Legislature, R.S., HSR 261 for his ten years of service to the house.[6]
