Birth & Upbringing: Cephas was born in Urungwe in 1958.
Education: He was schooled at Fulechi School, in Karoi. [1]
Military Service: The BSA Police was very much a para-military service and was the nation's first line of defense. The Police Anti Terrorist Unit of the British South Africa Police was a unit which operated in a quasi Special Forces role, seeking out and engaging the enemy in counter insurgency operations as an integral part of the Security Forces. The Unit was a highly successful structure.
Occupation: Policeman - joined the BSA Police in December 1977;Reg. No. 25906; served until March 1979
Demise: Killed in action- vehicle ambush while serving as a Constable with Duty Uniform in Nuanetsi (Operation Repulse), Rhodesia. Cephas was operating with a PATU stick at the time of his demise [2] [1]. He was 21 years of age.
Burial: Cephas Changara was buried at the Warren Hills Cemetery on 15 March 1979 following a semi-military funeral. [1]
