Biography

Frank was born about 1865 in California. He was the son of Lafayette Chapman and Fanny Carpenter. In 1870 Frank was living with his parents and siblings in Petaluma, Sonoma, California. By 1880 the family was living in Santa Rosa, California. Frank married Clara Elizabeth Cargill on 3/4/1891 in Solano, California. In 1894 Frank was registered to vote in Pomona, Los Angeles, California where he was listed as a fruit dealer. In 1896 he was registered in Los Angeles, California and was listed as a commissioned merchant. In 1900 Frank and Clara were living in Los Angeles with their children. In 1910 the family was living in Turlock, Stanislaus, California where Frank was a fruit farmer. By 1920 they were living in Modesto Judicial Township, Stanislaus, California where Frank was a fruit dryer/ evaporator. Frank died 1/17/1934 and is buried with family members in the Santa Rosa Rural Cemetery (Plot Rural WHC 223-224).

Research Notes

There appear to be duplicate Find a Grave records for Frank. One states he died 1/17/1934 and is buried in the Santa Rosa Rural Cemetery and the other states he died 9/13/1956 abs is buried in the Modesto Pioneer Cemetery. Not sure which is correct.
