Biography

Edmund was born in 1787. He was the son of Eliphaz Chapman (1747-1814) and Hannah Jackman (1753-1838).

He married Hitty / Mehitabel Gould (1788-1877) in 1810 in Worcester, MA.^[1][2][3] They were the parents of the following children:

He passed away in 1868. He is buried in Riverside Cemetery, Bethel, ME.

Research Notes

It appears from the records found that the Find a Grave listed below (Edmund Chapman unknown-1868) is his, but it is mis-attributed to his son Edmund Horace Chapman, who died in 1863, not 1868. The photo is difficult to read but it does say "aged 80 years" Thus the child attached to the profile, Lucy Chapman Eames 1856-1908 is probably not his. When Edmund Jr. is added maybe it can be straightened out further.Bogue-687 16:29, 16 July 2022 (UTC)
