Biography

Bobby Gene Chasteen was born on March 9, 1934 in Tarrant, Tarrant, Texas, United States, son of John Chasteen (1881–1957) and Beulah Victoria Farmer (~1894–~1938).

Bob's mother died when he was only 3 years old. His father remairried to Daisy Hight Chasteen who raised all the children with their father from that point forward. Bob was the youngest of 12 children. He retired from General Motors Corporation in Tarrant, County Texas.

Bob (19) married Doris LyVonne Ledbetter (16) (born on October 20, 1937 in Tarrant; daughter of William Badgett Ledbetter and Myrtle Connie (Myers) Wade) on January 9, 1954 in Dallas, Dallas, Texas. Their children were:

Bob (32) married Katherine Louise Blankenship (31) (born on October 20, 1934 in Dallas) on June 3, 1966 in Dallas.

Bob married Mary Elizabeth Ogle in .... they resided in Hico, Texas. After their divorce Bob moved across town and lived with his brother Edward Earl Chasteen. On February 22, 2003 Bob and Earl's girlfriend traveled into the town of Hamilton to run some errands. Heading South on U.S. Hwy 281, just outside of Hamilton a Pickup truck hauling a stock trailer was traveling North bound. The stocktrailer connected to the pickup had a blow-out and the driver of the pickup lost control veering over into the North bound lanes and struck the vehicle Bob was the passenger in head-on. Bob was killed instantly.

Bob died on February 22, 2003 in Hamilton, Texas, aged 68.
