Biography

Alfred was born in Lowestoft, Suffolk, England, United Kingdom, on 29 April 1805 and baptised at St Margaret’s church, Lowestoft, on 1 May 1805, the son of John Chaston and Sarah Browne. ^[1] He became the bank manager in Watton, Norfolk. England. ^[2] He married Louisa Jane Finch, whose sister Sarah had been married for the previous 10 years to Alfred’s brother Benjamin, in Swaffham, Norfolk, on 20 May 1844, ^[3] but they had no children. He died in Watton on 5 February 1869, aged 63. ^[4]
