During the American Revolutionary War, Christopher Chesebrough was a prisoner of war in a battleship (name not known) in New York Harbor, and one of 15 who escaped.
He married in 1781 Abigail Williams [b. 25 Aug 1758 @ Groton, Connecticut, daughter of Nathanial Williams and second wife Abigail Eldredge of Stonington, Conn. She died 23 Jul 1837 at Knox, NY].
