Robert Cheyne was son of John Cheney [1] and his wife, Margaret Ingleton. [2][3]
1541-2 Robert was Lord of the Manors of Grove Drayton in Buckinghamshire and Cugenho in Northamptonshire.
Robert married Elizabeth Webbe, daughter of John Webbe of Hertfordshire, gentleman usher to Edward IV, [2] widow of Fulk Wodhull. Their children were John, Margaret, Katherine and Elizabeth.[2][3]
After Elizabeth's death Robert married Mary Sylam, daughter of John Sylam of Bedfordshire.[2] [3]They were the parents of Thomas and Mary. [2][3]
Robert died in 1552 [1] on the 9th of December and was buried at St Leonard's Chesham Bois. [4]
