Biography
Online birth records have her place of birth as Doogalook.
On 26/10/1869 she married James Edward Sewell McCarthy in Carshalton Surrey. He was with the 54th Regiment. His father was Lt Col W. S. McCarthy late of the 84th Regiment. Her father was listed as A. M. Cheyne, Esq., M.D., of Victoria, Australia.
She received an inheritance of stocks and shares from her uncle Peter Cheyne. When she married three Trustees were appointed to protect her inheritence. The papers have a memorandum dated 1895 about her death.
Bristol Archives hold a lot of family papers including some about their children.
She had 13 children.
She died age 42 of cancer.
