Biography

Arthur's birth was registered in the Jan-Feb-Mar quarter of 1856 in the The Shoreditch District district.^[1] He is the son of Cornelius Chigley and Sarah Ford.

In the 1861 census Arthur (age 5), Scholar, was the son of Cornelius Chidgey, living in Wilson Street, Shoreditch, London, England.^[2]

Arthur Chidgey migrated from England to New Zealand.

Arthur was a passenger on the Canterbury, which sailed from London on September 21st 1863 and arrived in Lyttelton on January 10th 1864 ^[3].
