Notes

  • Washington County was formed from Frederick County in 1776. So Nicholas may have been born in Frederick co. ... But Jerusalem is located in modern day Harford co., MD., which was carved out of eastern Baltimore in 1774. However, there were other Claboughs in Frederick co., Province of Maryland in Nicholas' time. See Frederick Clabaugh (Clabaugh-50).
It's also the case that the Washington co., area was where the Cresaps were based. They intermarried with the Ogles. ... The Ogles & the Clabaugh had branches, not only in Frederick co., Maryland, but also in Sevier, Tennessee. The Ogles also branched out into Ohio, and Muskingum is one of the co. they settled.[4]

Claybaugh-90 and Clabaugh-40 appear to represent the same person because: Yes, this was my mistake, spelled different but same person, his 3 sons were

John, Thomas and Nicholas Jr and all died in Ohio. All 3 lived in Licking and Muskingum and Franklin all part of Columbus, Ohio. Richard Abicht
