Biography

When John Clanton was born in 1610 in London, London, England, his father, Edward, was 30 and his mother, Elizabeth, was 76. He married Eliz Crichton in 1630 in England. They had one child during their marriage. He died as a young father in James City, Virginia, at the age of 26. ^{[1] [2]}

Note: His parents may have been Francis Clanton and Agnes Walker, who were married in Garveston, Norfolk, England on 23 July 1601, but this has not been proven yet. It is unknown at this time from where in England he came from, but it is known that he sailed from London aboard the ship "Abraham" in 1635 bound for the Virginia Colony in the new world.
