Malinda (18) married James Elijah Sturgell (39) (born on September 17, 1805 in Ashe, North Carolina, United States; son of John W. Sturgill and Amy (Hall) Sturgill) on May 28, 1845 in Pike County, Kentucky. Their daughter was Martha Jane Sturgell (1846–1917).
Malinda died on December 26, 1899 in Floyd County, Kentucky, aged 72.
