From his profile in Find A Grave:

Like his father, the call to serve his country was strong and it soon took him. Aaron, at the age of 18, enlisted to serve his country during the Revolutionary war; as did many of his patriot friends and neighbors. On his first enlistment, Aaron served in Capt. Wells; 5th Company, that was attached to Colonel Wolcotts Regiment. According to the Company pay roll record, Aaron enlisted on January 30, 1776. Aaron's Company was called up (given orders) to "March," on Feb. 12, 1776, an undertaking that lasted for thirty three (33) days. They were one of the three, recalled Regiments, sent by General Washington to the Boston area. He was released or discharged on March 3, 1776. For this three month term of duty, he was paid; £2-10s-6d.
