Biography

John was born in 1800. He was the son of John Clark and Hannah Hunter. He passed away in 1880. The saint John Globe offered the following bio upon his death:

John Clark died at his residence Lancaster Heights (St. John) this morn. He was a son of the late John Saunders Clark, one of the city pioneers and was born in Carleton in 1800. A builder of roads, wharves, bridges, ships, mills, millowner, merchant and farmer, Mr. Clark lived a life of great activity. When his present residence at Lancaster was erected, it was the only place of the kind on a road which is now covered with handsome residences. He leaves a widow and five sons, three of whom succeeded to their father's milling business some time ago, one is farming in Massachusetts and the other is Rev. John A. Clark.
