Biography

OBITUARY. 12 Feb 1898 Lieutenant-Colonel William Denton Claxton, who had been employed for the Iast five years as assistant superintendent of the Boys' Reformatory, at Magill, died suddenly at that institution on. Sunday. Dr. Clindening was called in, and attributed death to failure of the heart's action. Lieutenant-Colonel Claxton was for many years a prominent member of the Artillery, and prior to taking a position at the reformatory he was engaged in mercantile pursuits. He was 65 years of age at the time of his death, and had been twice married. He leaves a family of seven or eight grown-up children.^[1]
