I was able to see the Riggs Family Bible, now in the possession of Virginia Sue (West) Foster, the wife of Henry Harrison Foster. Sue is the daughter of Bertha Christine Thomason, who was the oldest daughter of Ada Anna Riggs of Seneca Newton Riggs and Mary Jane (Rence/Renz). Seneca was the son of Elder Massey Riggs and Mary Ann Clements, of Clements Bottom, Kentucky in Henry County. Our lineage of Elder Riggs also gave his middle name as Massey. He and Mary Ann were only married for a short time only four years and one month. This Riggs Family Bible also had his birth date as 15 October 1820, marriage date as 20 August 1842, and his death date as 21 September 1846. No places listed for each of the dates however, so we have no known sources at this time. It is believed Elder's parents to be Levi and Sarah (Boatman) Riggs, who lived for a time in the Clement's Bottom area north of the Kentucky River in Owen County. Clement's Bottom was located in Henry County, Kentucky located south on the Kentucky River, county seat was Lockport and Clements Bottom had according to History gorgeous land in Henry County in a large "U" loop in this River. The Riggs family info found in the Kansas City Library from Riggs descendents has given information that the Clements of this area, raised produce on this land that was only sold at First Class rates and was sold only as produce "for out of this country."
