Biography

Peter was born in Virginia, in 1769 to Lewis Henry Click and Dorcas Alexander. Peter married Fanny Lamon they are the parents of six children. He then married Elizabeth Sherman. He died in Washington County, Tennessee on March 27, 1840.

LETTER OF MAE TWITCHELL 15 FEB 1974 WRITTEN TO A MRS. CLICK PETER CLICK ATTENDED THE CHEROKEE BAPTIST CHURCH WHICH WAS FOUNDED IN 1783. HE JOINED THE CHURCH ON 6 NOV 1824. THIS CHURCH IS ABOUT 5 MILES SOUTH OF JONESBORO, TENNESSEE ON ROUTE 81. PETER CLICK DIED NEAR JONESBORO ON 27 MAR 1840 ACCORDING TO THE OLD MINUTE BOOKS OF THE CHURCH. HE WAS MARRIED TO FANNY LAMON, DAUGHTER OF DAVID LAMON. SHE WAS BORN ABT 1778 AND DIED 8 APR 1832 AGE 54 YRS, NEAR JONESBORO, TENNESSEE. HER DEATH IS RECORDED IN THE OLD CHURCH MINUTE BOOKS. SHE HAD JOINED THE CHEROKEE BAPTIST CHURCH ON 6 DEC 1823

DEED BOOK 23, PG 609 WASHINGTON CO. TENNESSEE 11 Oct 1841 "this indenture made and entered into this 11th day of October, 1841, between DAVIS (DAVID) CLICK, JACOB CLICK, ISAAC CLICK, JAMES BREASLEY AND ELIZABETH BREASLY, his wife, formerly ELIZABETH CLICK, heirs of PETER CLICK, Deceased, of the one part and JAMES B. CLOYD of the other part all of the County of Washington, State of Tennessee in consideration for the sum of $300.00, said land lying in the County of Washington, and being in two tracts, one tract containing 60 acres, the other tract containing 20 acres.
