Biography

Phillip Cluss was born on 14 June 1866 on Oxley Island, New South Wales, Australia^[1]. His parents were Charles Frederick Cluss (1824 - 1905) and Wilhelmina Fredericka (Kopp) Cluss (1834 - 1920).

MR. PHILLIP CLUSS.

The death occurred on Thursday night, at his residence, Bohnock, of Mr. Phillip CLUSS, aged 60 years. Deceased was a son of the late Mr. Charles CLUSS, of Oxley Island, where he was born. He resided on the Manning all his life, except when he was working at other places, as far north as the Bellinger. For some time, up till about nine months ago, he resided in Taree. Then he shifted to Bohnock. He has been ill for about 12 months. Deceased leaves a widow, but no family. Messrs. Arthur and Joseph SCHUBERT, Taree, are step-sons, and Mrs. W. Brown, Taree, is a step-daughter. Brothers of deceased are Messrs. Louis Cluss (Taree), Charles Cluss (Bohnock) and Andrew Cluss (Oxley Island). Mrs. Hugh Nelson (Bohnock), Mrs. Wm. SCHUBERT (Bohnock) and Miss Sarah Cluss (Oxley Island) are sisters.

The funeral will be at Oxley cemetery to-day (Saturday) .
