Note NI306Obituary: John H. Clute
John H. Clute was born in 1844 in Glen, New York, where he grew to manhood, being engaged in the business of farming. He was united in marriage in 1869 to Janett Smith, and of this union were born six children, four of whom died in infancy. In 1877 Mr., Clute was converted and he became a member of the Baptist church at that time. The family removed to Nebraska in 1879 where they have since resided - living first of a farm in Adams county and later in Pauline. Mr. Clute died in University Hospital, Omaha, Nebraska on Friday morning, August 27, 1920. He is survived by his wife and two children, Mrs. Alice Quigg of Pauline and Mrs. George Clute of St. John, Oregon. He also leaves one brother, Mr. Will Clute , and two sisters, Mrs. S. C. Bauder, and Mrs. Jennie DeNice. Mr. Clute will be long be remembered in the community in which he lived for his kindly and congenial qualities. He was a loving father, a loyal friend , charitable to all. A conscientious Christian character.
