COATS—The friends of the late Mr. Arnold Thomas Coats, of Cobdogla, are respectfully informed that his funeral left the Congregational Church, Barmera. on Monday, after a service at 3.30 p.m., for the Garden of Memory Cemetery.

Death Off Barmera Pioneer
BARMERA. July 14.
Mr. A. T. Coats, who died at the week-end, was one of the pioneers of the Settlement. having pitched his tent on a virgin block in 1920. after service with the AMC in World War I. Before the war he had worked on his father's property at Upper Sturt. When his block was established, he began to take an interest in public affairs, and was the first president of the Barmera Show Society when it was formed in 1928, and was subsequently made a life member. For 25 years he was president of the Barmera Institute and was recently elected a member of the Barmera Hotel board. He leaves nine children, three sons and a daughter having served in World War II. There are also five grandchildren.
