Ninian was born in 1673. He is the son of Marmaduke Cochran and Elizabeth Cratts. [1]

Ninian was born near Glendermott, Londonderry, Northern Ireland (SOURCE: http://www.fahanchurch.org/firstminister.htm) He completed his MA, Arts, from Glasgow University, Scotland, in 1707 (SOURCE: Glasgow University website: http://www.universitystory.gla.ac.uk/biography/?id=WH6273&type=P) On 03 Feb 1719, Ninian was ordained as the first Presbyterian Minister at Fahan Presbyterian Church and "demitted the charge in 1748, and was succeeded by Mr. Joseph Eeagh.... Mr. Cochrane died on the 21st of September, 1751."
