Name

John Cock baptism probably 15 Jan 1605 St Just. John married Margaret Williams of Penzance about 1630 or 2 Oct 1632 at Mawnan. Margaret was probably daughter of Thomas Willyam 1580 and Johane 1585-1644. Will of John Cock of St Just, dated 16 Feb 1666, to daughter Phillip the wife of Thomas Mathew one shilling, daughter-in-law Ann wife of son Thomas deceased one shilling, to grandson John Cook junor the son of Thomas 5 when 21, to wife Margaret and daughter Margaret junor the messuage in Buscasell held of William Godolphin, and tenements in St Just held of William Busvargus and all the rest and residue. [CRO ref AP/C/1433/1] Inventory of the Goods & Chattell of John Cocke deceased the 22nd day of March 1666 and appraised on 26 March 1667 by Samp Shakerly and James Adam. Wearing apparel, five pans, a skillet, pair of brass candlesticks, four brass crockes, 18 pewter platters, flagon, cup, six spoones, cup part silver, silver spoons, brass candlestick, small feather bed furnishe, 3 old bedsteads, tableboard, frames, forme, chayse, chests, cupboards, bench, barrels, ropes, plow, 2 ykes & chains, harrow, dung pots, 2 parksadles, old sadle & bridle, table cloth, 6 napkins 2 winding sheets, some hemp, one sledg, 2 tables, 2 bellows & hamer, hand iron, hattchett, dish, 2 brandirons, fire prongs, spittle, corn in the mowhay, some thrashd, two eighth parts of tenement of Buskasell held from Wm Godolphin, 30 sheep in lamb, five small pigs and poultry, two mares, fower oxen, six kine, a calf, fower young bullocks, seven gallons of black tynn, two butts of bees, old bench, other triviall things about the house, goods forgotten, total £72.
