Biography

John was born on 29 February 1884 in Newtown Cross, PE, CAN. He was the son of James A. Cody and Mary Jane (Williams) Cody.

John was baptised on 23 March 1884 in St. Michael's Church, Iona, PEI.

John died at the age of 95 in February 1979 in Charlottetown, PE, Canada.

Research Notes

John Edward used Coady as the spelling of his name. This was a result of how his name was recorded when he enlisted in W.W.I., and how his pay and pension cheques were issued.

Through the years, Cody/Coady seems to be interchangeable depending on who took the Census' and who built the tombstones!
