Biography

Ann Coish (married name Batten) was born around 1818 in Bovey Tracey, Devon, England,^[1] the daughter of Thomas Coish.^[2]

She married Joseph Batten on 26 October 1845 at Saint Anne Soho, Westminster, London, England.^[3] Their children were:

• Elizabeth (Batten) Archbold (1848-1882)^[1]
• William Batten (1851?–1879)^[1][4]
• Persian Batten (1852?–1906)^[5]
• Joseph Batten (1859–1940)^[6][7]

Joseph, Ann and three children emigrated to Australia on the Persian in 1852.^[8]

Joseph died in April 1890.^[9]

Ann died on 22 May 1910 at West Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, aged 92 years.^[2][10]
