Thomas was born in 1551. He was the second son of Thomas Cockayne and Dorothy Ferrers.
He married Jane, daughter and heir of Philip Okeover.
He died on 19 January 1587/88 at Pooley Hall, Polesworth.[1]
An inventory of his goods and livestock was taken at Findern, Derbyshire, on 4 April 1588 and at Okeover, Staffordshire, on 5 April 1588.[2]
