Death notices:
The Sydney Morning Herald 9 April 1910:
MACLEOD.—April 7, at her residence, Dunvegan, Mosman, Emily, beloved wife of William Macleod. Interred at Gore Hill, Friday, 8th instant.[1]
The Cumberland Argus and Fruitgrowers Advocate 20 April 1910:
Mr. William Macleod, managing director of Sydney 'Bulletin,' and the popular ex-president of the N.S.W. Bowling Association, is just now with his family the recipient of widespread condolence on the death of his wife, which occurred on Thursday last. The sad event was not unexpected, as the deceased Iady, though not confined to a sick room, had been in precarious health for some time past, and had recently undergone a critical operation. Besides her husband, Mrs. Macleod leaves a family of two sons and three daughters, one of the former (Mr. Norman Macleod) being married to the second daughter of Mr. E. W. O'SuIlivan, M.L.A. The remains were interred at Gore Hill Cemetery on Friday last, the Rev. Father O'Brien (Mosman) officiating at the graveside.[2]
The Arrow 1910, April 9:
A general and a genuine feeling of sympathy went out to Mr. Macleod, late president of the Association, when it became known on Friday morning that his wife had passed away the day before. Mrs. Macleod was a great sufferer for a long time— years, I am informed — and during the last several weeks members of the family and a large circle of friends knew the end might come at any moment. The deceased lady's funeral took place at Gore Hill yesterday, when a large gathering of bowlers and others paid the last tribute of respect.[3]
Burial 8 Apr 1910 Gore Hill Cemetery, NSW: Portion: RCO, Row: D5, Plot: 26. Her son Norman (d.1919) is buried in plot 25, and her mother in law Juliana Macleod (d. 1908) in plot 27.
