Biography

Guy Shuckburgh Collyns served in the Otago Infantry regiment until 1919, when he requested to be discharged as he had been offered a good job in England. He mentions in a letter that his wife was in trouble and about to go to trial and he wanted to be able to provide for his wife and children^[1] however it was more likely he had become aware of her infidelity whilst he had been at war.

However, by February 1924 he had petitioned for divorce and had been granted a decree nisi (with the decree absolute to be processed within 3 months), with his wife Janey Read Collyns accused of adultery with a traveller named James Wallis which was uncontested. Guy Shuckburgh Collyns was granted custody of the children^[2][3].

He then married Grace Audrey Barnett*.

In 1956, Guy and Grace Audrey were resident at Highfield, 86 Countess Road, Amesbury, Wiltshire, England^[4].

On the 18th August 1956, Guy and Grace Audrey travelled to New Zealand aboard the "Dominion Monarch"^[4]

Guy Stukeley Shuckburgh Collyns does not appear to have married Grace Audrey Barnett, either in England or New Zealand. However, they had travelled to many other countries where they may have married.
