William was born about 1816 in Cornwall, England, the son of Samuel Congdon.
He married Jane Venning on April 4, 1843 in the parish of Egloskerry, Cornwall.[1]
William died at the age of 92 years on December 13, 1904 in Cleveland, Cuyahoga county, Ohio, USA and was buried there next to his wife in Monroe Street Cemetery.
