James Conley married Sarah McHaffie at Inch in Wigtownshire, Scotland on the 3rd of January 1862.^[1] They had:

1. Fanny b. 1862.^[2] m 1884, Thomas William Frost.^[3] d. 1947, Buried Mackay.^[4]
2. William b. 1864.
3. Hugh b. 1866.^[5] m. 1898, Minnie Iredale.^[6]d. 1949.^[7]

James, Sarah and their family came to Australia in 1883, on board the "Scottish Knight", landing at Mackay.

James Conley passed away at Mackay, Queensland in 1912, and was laid to rest in the Mackay Cemetery.^[11][12]
