Elizabeth was born in Sellinge, Kent and baptised there on 22 April 1927.[1] She is the daughter of Stephen Cook and Mary Sharwood.
She was recorded in the 1841 Census living in her parent's household in Smeeth, Kent.[2]
Elizabeth has not been located in the 1851 Census.
She married William Elgar File on 18 December 1857 at Elham, Kent.[3]
They were living at Boughton under Blean, Kent at the time of the 1861 Census. With them in the household was their children Edwin and William, her 78 year old father Stephen and two others.[4]
Elizabeth's situation in 1871 was very similar, living with her husband, sons Edwin and William, a nephew Charles File and three servants and employees.[5] By 1881 her nephew was no longer there and only one servant was present.[6]
William passed away in 1882 and the 1891 Census finds Elizabeth living alone with her spinster sister Charlotte, still in Boughton under Blean.[7]
Elizabeth was living in her son William's household in 1901 in Boughton under Blean.[8]
Elizabeth died at the grand old age of 97 in Faversham district in 1924.[9]

I missed this match when I first entered Elizabeth's profile, due to the different place of birth, but if you check the census records you can see that her birthplace is in fact Sellinge/Sellindge.
I also know I have the right Elizabeth as her father was visiting at the time of the 1861 Census.
