Biography

Martha was born in about 1833 in Missouri. Her father was David Cook and her mother was Mary Love, both from Kentucky. Martha married John Dew Patton. Martha and John lived with their children in Sonoma, California where John was a farmer. Martha was widowed in 1888. In 1900 she was living in the household of her daughter Nancy and son in law John F Whitchurch in Shasta, California. Martha died 3/17/1906 and is buried with family members in the Santa Rosa Rural Cemetery (Plot Rural MC98).
