Hepburn Passes Tuesday Former Bracebridge Resident Had Been Ill Here 16 Months Mrs. John Hepburn, former resident of Bracebridge, passed away here on Tuesday night at the home of her daughter-in-law, Mrs. Edward A. Hepburn, 2057 8th Avenue East. Deceased had come to this city in September of 1942 to spend the winter with her son and daughter-in-law, had been taken ill almost immediately after her arrival in this city and had been ill ever since. The late Mrs. Hepburn, whose maiden name was Mary Cook, was born at Belfast, Ireland, 58 years ago. At the age of 16 she was united in marriage to John Hepburn and when she was 20 they came to Canada, settling at Bracebridge. Later her parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Cook, also came to Canada and settled at Bracebridge. During her long residence there, Mrs. Hepburn was an active Salvation Army worker, being an officer in the Bracebridge Corps. Deceased's husband passed away ten years ago. Surviving are two sons, Pte. Ernest Hamilton Hepburn, overseas with the Canadian Army, and Leading Stoker Edward Albert Hepburn, R.C.N.V.R., Hamilton, Ont. A daughter, Lena, Mrs. Frederick Foster, of Bracebridge died 18 years ago. There are two brothers surviving, James Cook, 2031 5th avenue west, Owen Sound, and William Cook of Guelph, and two sisters, Mrs. Albert Wyman, of Bracebridge and Elizabeth, married and living in Belfast, Ireland.
