Nathaniel "Nat" Cooledge was born in Revere (formerly N. Chelsea), Massachusetts in 1869, son of George H and Charlotte A Cooledge. In 1898, he married Lillian Emma Wentworth in Rochester, with whom he had a daughter, Ruth Emma. Lillian remarried (Edwin M Pike, of Mendon, VT), in 1905. About 1915 Nat probably married Nellie Hamilton. Together, he and Nellie traveled in Europe (Great Britain, France, Belgium) on business for about 18 months in 1921-1922, returning to their home in New York Oct 6, 1922.

Nat passed away in April 1969, just shy of 100 years old, in Dingmans Ferry, Pennsylvania, where he had been living with his daughter, Ruth.
