Biography
Phinetta Ann Cornelius was the daughter of Beverly and Nancy Cornelius. She first married Daniel Alexander Murphree in 1853, who was killed in the Civil War on April 6, 1862. She then married to Wilson Carol Cowden in 1863.
Obituary of Phenetta Ann Cornelius Murphree Cowden The Blount County News - Dispatch July 13, 1895 (Page 3, Column 1)
"DIED: -- Near Remlap., Ala, on the 13th inst., of dropsy, Mrs. F. A. Cowden, nee Cornelius, aged about 60 years. She suffered for many months, but bore her sufferings with Christian fortitude. Her remains were interred at Remlap on Sunday, the 14th inst."
