John Melvin Corney was born on April 7, 1914, in Amherst, Nova Scotia, Canada, his father, Nathaniel, was 34 and his mother, Janie, was 25. He had two daughters with Nora Edith Goodwin between 1950 and 1952. He died on February 3, 1984, at the age of 69
