When I looked at the obituary I misread her birth name as Gordon instead of Cordon due to the small print of the notice in the newspaper. I have learned that the family name in Ireland was Corridon It seemed that their children who came to America used the name Cordon instead of Corridon. Beside my great grandmother Margaret, At least three of her siblings moved America Michael who lived in Cylde, NY , Nora in Syracuse, NY (narrued name Lane) and Mary Cordon McCarthy Dowliing in Effingham, Kansas. There may be other siblings who came to U.S.A. that I am not aware of. Johanna Cordon Kelly was in 1870 US Census living in Clyde NY with her sister Nora's family. She married someone named Kelly and died in August, 1900 and was buried in St Agnes Cemetery in Syracuse, NY in Section 2 Lot 78 Grave 6 in the plot purchased by Patrick O'Connell on August 11, 1900 for $80.

I made a mistake in reading my great grandmother name in her obituary due to the small print. Her name was Condon not Gordon. In Ireland, the family name was Corridan.in County Clare. A local genealogist found information about the marriage of Timothy Corridan of Tullabeg and Mary Walsh on 17 February 1833 Ballybunion with witnesses John Walsh and Michael Walsh. There is a Tullabeg in County Clare and a monestary in County Kerry with the same name. I was told that my great grandmother was from Kerry near Listrowel. I found something about their children, but neglected to record the source. Some were born in Tullabeg then the family relocated to Tullamore where the of the children were born. At least four of the childrem came to America, iMichael ended up in Cylde,NY where he married and had a family. Nora and Margaret came to Syracuse, ny . Each used the name Cordon entering America. I don't know why the name was changed from Corridan to Cordon. Anither sister Mary who was married in Ireland to John McCarthy and had 6 children, came to visit his sibling in Syracuse following the death of her husband. She went west where she married Patrick Dowling in Effingham , Kansas. Both are buried in the catholic cemetery there.
