Biography

Daniel Corson, ( 1763- 19 Feb. 1849) "Daniel is where we begin. Born in Sussex Co. NJ he died at the age of 85, at Brantford, Ont. Canada. The evidence indicates that he was the son of Jacob Corson and Hester Heaton of Hardwick Twp., NJ., now part of Warren County but then part of Sussex. He married Rebecca Lawrason, daughter of Thomas Lawrason, also of Sussex Co. She was the sister of Lawrence and Miller Lawrason who came with the Corsons from NJ to the Niagara District Canada in 1787. It is said that there were 42 New Jersey families that made the trek to Canada in that year. Her daughter, Mercy Force, described her as a "Strong Church of England Woman" [keithrobertson454 originally shared on Ancestry 05 Dec 2011]
