Biography

William was born in 1807 in Kenilworth, Warwickshire. He was the son of John Cotton and Elizabeth (Walker) Cotton. [1]

William Cotton (bachelor) and Elizabeth Moorwood (spinster, a minor), daughter of Edward Moorwood (butcher), were married by license on 16th May 1821 at St Philip, Birmingham, Warwickshire, England, United Kingdom. [2][3]

In 1841, Will Cotton (30, a comb maker) and Elizebeth Cotton (35) were living in Albion Row, Kenilworth, Warwickshire, England, United Kingdom, along with two children, Sarah Cotton (8) and George Cotton (6). All were born in the county. [4][5]

On 30 March 1851 William Cotton (44, head, married, a comb maker born in Kenilworth) was living in Albion Row, Kenilworth, Warwickshire, along with his wife, Elizabeth Cotton (48, born in Kenilworth) and their children, George Cotton (15) and Mark Cotton (6, scholar). [6]

On 2 April 1871 William (age 65, formerly a combmaker, born in Kenilworth, Warwickshire) was living in Union Workhouse, Warwick, Warwickshire. [7]

William died at the age of 71 in 1879 in Union Workhouse, Warwick, Warwickshire. Age: 72

William was buried on 20 September 1879 in Kenilworth, Warwickshire. Age: 72 [8]
