IMMIGRATION. SHIPPING INTELLIGENCE. PORT PHILLIP HEADS. ARRIVED. The celebrated Black Hall clipper ship Lightning arrived in Hobson's Bay yesterday evening, in tow of the steam tug Sophia. She left Liverpool on the 13th of May; had very light airs for twenty-one days, when she had only made the island of Madeira. Crossed the Equator on the 15th of June, in lon. 28 deg. W., and the meridian of the Cape of Good Hope on the 13th of July, in lat. 42 deg S.; then had strong steady winds and fine weather until the 2nd ult., when she was within 150 miles of Cape Otway; since then she has had light baffling winds. She passed Cape Otway on the 5th inst. The Lightning brings over 400 passengers, all in good health. The ship is remarkably clean, and in her usual good order.-Ibid [Argus, 9th August.]
