Biography

John was born in about 1817 in Ayr, Ayrshire. [1] He was the son of David Coulthard and Marion (Bertram) Coulthard.

In the 1851 census John (age 34), Wine & spirit merchant, was the married head of household at 25, Oxford Street, Gorbals, Laurieston, Lanarkshire, Scotland.[1]
