Biography

Rockcorry, historically known as Newtowncorry or Cribby from the Gaelic 'cré buí' meaning yellow earth (The Gaelic place name today is Buíochar), is a village in north-west County Monaghan, Ireland. [1]

The following is an excerpt from the book, "Pleasantville, Iowa, Past & Present 1976," written by various family members who lived in Pleasantville, "After his wife, Jane, died in Ireland, and about the time of the Rev. War, Thomas emigrated to Monongalia Co, Virginia, and married 2nd spouse, Isabella. Was a surveyor."[2] That site also lists his year of birth as 1728 and his DOD as 1 Sep 1811. Find a Grave only provides more precise location of burial as additional useful information.[3]
