Note N198Among the early settlers of Covington township in Luzerne County, PN, in the Lackawanna Valley were: Ebenezer Covey, William Ross, John Ross. Ebenezer purchased land from Henry W. Drinker that was part of the "Sundry Patents". He also purchased land in Falls Township, Wyoming Co. In 1844 he gave land to his son William R. Covey in Falls Township, Wyoming County. In the 1850 census he is listed as 60 years old, his wife Lydia as 57, both born in NY with children Lydia 21, Vincent 18, Delight 15, and Lewis 13.
In the 1860 census Ebenezer is listed as 69 years old, a farmer and living with Samuel Evans and his family.
Ebenezer moved in with his son Lewis in his later years. His will leaves everything to his son Lewis.
