Cowles, Miles M. Adjutant, 38th NC Troops; wounded at Richmond, VA; 6-26-1862 ~Miles Melmoth Cowles~ Residence Yadkin County NC; 26 years old. Enlisted on 5/12/1861 at Yadkin County, NC as a 1st Lieutenant. On 5/12/1861 he was commissioned into "B" Co. NC 21st Infantry He Resigned on 9/9/1861 He also had service in: Field & Staff NC 38th Infantry (Subsequent service as Adjutant)
