Biography
Tyrus Albert Colthorp was born to James Jr. and Sarah Ford Cowlthorp in Essex Co., Canada West. He had one brother, Elias and one sister Isabella. He had 10 half brothers and half sisters. Albert and his brother Elias, decided to change the spelling of Cowlthorp to Colthorp. The rest of that family kept the old spelling of Cowlthorp.
Albert married Lenora Culp Hodgkin on 12/25/1876. To this union were born eight children: Mabel Irene; Pathena Pearl; Homer Roy; Albert Ray; Orville Grant; Ethel Ferne; Floyd Carlton; Cecil Glenn. Albert lived on a farm, north of Breckenridge, MI. When Lenora passed away in 1934, they had been married for 57 years.
